A new transit center is proposed in the location of the existing Market Street garage. This new building will support Connect Transit’s bus facilities but will also include well-lit and secure public parking, leased commercial space, and a solar canopy to sustainably power the building. The transit center will accommodate ten busses and will also include a climate-controlled visitor lobby, customer service area, and accessible public restrooms. Demolition of the existing garage and construction of the new facility is scheduled to begin Fall of 2024.
